On the birthday of Brasilia (Monday, April 21), my friends and I spent the day visiting waterfalls near the city, went swimming at the lake near the city, and finally saw the house in which the President of Brasil lives (with a little wish in the water near it).

I spent a day taking touristy pictures of Brasilia, the pre-planned capital city built just 50 years ago.

Ariel and I spent a week in Florianópolis during our first week in Brasil. The city is on the island of Santa Catarina, which is about 50 km long and has over 42 beaches.
